Information I may collect
Depending on how you interact with me and the services you use, I may collect information including your name and contact details, information you provide through enquiry, application or booking forms, information you provide when signing up to my mailing list or downloading a resource, payment and transaction information, information you voluntarily share when participating in coaching, programmes, events or other services, communications between us, and technical information relating to your use of this website, such as device, browser, IP address and website usage information where applicable.
Because of the nature of coaching, you may choose to share personal information relating to areas such as your relationships, family, wellbeing or other aspects of your life. Where information requires additional protection under data protection law, I will handle it accordingly.
How I collect your information
I may collect personal information when you contact me through this website, email or social media, book or enquire about coaching, complete an application or intake form, purchase a service or digital product, join my mailing list, download a resource, attend an event or programme, communicate with me as part of our work together, or otherwise voluntarily provide information to me.
Some technical information may also be collected automatically through this website and the services used to operate it.
How I use your information
I may use your personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange discovery calls and coaching sessions, provide coaching, programmes, events, resources and other services you have requested, process and maintain records of purchases and payments, communicate with you about services you have purchased or requested, maintain appropriate business and financial records, improve my website and services, send marketing emails where you have consented to receive them or where another lawful basis permits me to do so, comply with legal, regulatory and accounting obligations, and protect my legitimate business interests where appropriate.
I will not use your information for purposes that are incompatible with the reason it was collected unless permitted or required by law.
Lawful basis for processing
Under UK data protection law, I must have a lawful basis for using your personal information.
Depending on the circumstances, I may process your information because you have given consent, for example when you choose to join my mailing list; because it is necessary to perform a contract, for example when you purchase coaching or another service from me; because I have a legal obligation, for example where I am required to retain certain financial or transaction records; or because I have a legitimate interest where processing is reasonably necessary for operating and protecting my business and those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Where special category personal data is processed, I will only do so where an additional lawful condition permitting that processing applies.
Email marketing
If you subscribe to my mailing list, I may send you emails containing writing, resources, information about my work and details of relevant services or events.
You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link contained in my marketing emails or by contacting hello@nathanausten.com.
Withdrawing your consent to marketing does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.
How your information is stored and shared
I use trusted third-party service providers to operate my business. Depending on the services you use, these may include providers for website hosting, email marketing, appointment scheduling, payment processing, forms and questionnaires, video calls, file and data storage, accounting and website analytics.
These providers may process personal information on my behalf or, in some circumstances, as independent data controllers.
Some providers may process or store information outside the UK. Where this happens, I take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law are in place.
I do not sell your personal information.
I will only disclose personal information to third parties where this is necessary to provide my services, operate my business, comply with the law, protect legitimate interests, or where you have otherwise authorised me to do so.
How long I keep your information
I will only retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including satisfying legal, accounting and reporting requirements.
Different categories of information may therefore be retained for different periods.
When information is no longer required, it will be securely deleted, anonymised or otherwise disposed of where reasonably practicable.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights in relation to your personal information, including the right to request access to personal information held about you, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion of your personal information, request restriction of processing, object to certain processing, request transfer of your information in certain circumstances, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances and the lawful basis under which your information is being processed.
To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@nathanausten.com.
You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator.
